Interests: You'll catch me submerged in a book, indulging in tv, obsessing over football, punning incessantly, catching a movie, contemplating philosophically about life-the universe-and-everything, scouring the net for quotes and oneliners, penning down articles.. since writing is good pun (ahem.. fun), procrastinating for hours on my comp, tuning in to my extensive music collection, and other such mundane activities. And I don't want to live my life like everybody else, And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else, Cause I'm not like everybody else.

Of motivations

We do what we have to do, in order to do what we want to do.

You're the only star, in the film i never made.. Rewind.

Every song sounds the same.. who is to blame.

The only way out - is through.

Saw, heard, thought, read, worked

Saw Mumbai Indians choke.

Worked for 20 days in  a row.

Read and watched Watchmen.

Heard Rahman live.

Thought about life, the universe and everything.

Mumbai FINALLY says Enough is Enough

Mumbai needs to stop emulating Rocky. When we're hit, we cant just take it and ask for more. We cant just move on as if nothing happened. You gotta fight back.. you gotta hit back. The punches have been flying in our direction. It's time to punch back. Because when chaos is served in blood red sauce, doing nothing is by far the worst reaction.

If Mumbai wants to avoid a KO, then the line has to be drawn. So yeah, when it hits home, when India gets its very own 9/11 ...finally, finally my city and the majority of its people start saying Enough is Enough.

Im reposting a July 2006 post of my reaction to the train blasts in Mumbai, because my thoughts havent really changed.

Slap me bitch, I'm Mumbai

Here we are - being 'sympathetic'

Showing solidarity with the dead, we say.

And Mumbai moves on.

No stopping and thinking..Few angry protests, thats it.

Our resilience, our grit...we call it.

And we say, by moving on, we neutralize the acts of the terrorists

And the media salutes our 'spirit'.

All bullshit.

We came together because we were attacked without bias.

But the next day itself we're back to being biased. Back to living for ourselves.. for survival in this place called Mumbai.

And survival means work here. So we go to work. Forget what happened if we arent one of those that were directly affected.

Only tragedy can get us together. That's the shame.

We came together for Mumbai, not for each other... but for OUR Mumbai.

Because we NEED Mumbai. We need Mumbai to be running.

For OUR survival.... Mostly - for ourselves.

But more than the hypocritical nature of our so called spirit, what disturbs me is the ease with which me move on.

When will we wake up?

Will we forget so easily..

Go on with life as if nothing happened?

Nothing happened?

Something happened people...SOMETHING HAPPENED

Its almost as if we are now accustomed to an attack every 2 years.

When two planes hit the twin towers, the US went to war with a whole country.

I'm not saying that we should do that.

But lets not lie down and say - Slap me bitch, I'm Mumbai.

Okay.

========

We have got to send out the message that "If you mess with us, you will pay". Terrorists should fear Mumbai, not the other way around.

Who am I...

As time passes by, life and its experiences help me expand my definitions of who I am not.

I figure out more and more each day who I am not.

Its a pity then that I still havent figured out exactly who I am.

People vs Place

Is it people that make the place.. or the place that makes the people.

Take the city you're in. Take your close friends from that city and imagine they are not in that city anymore. Now, do you still like the city you're in?

I reckon you may be anywhere in the world, but if you've got blokes that can understand your point of view (though they may not agree with it) and your sense of humour, then the place really doesnt matter.
